Pat McShea played football at the University of Georgia from 1977-1980. He was the starting defensive end on the 1980 National Championship team that went 12-0 and beat Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. Pat coached at Georgia Southern College from 1981-1982; coached youth league for six years, ninth grade for three years, and high school for one year. Coach Erk Russell’s Split-Sixty Defense was used at all four levels of football and helped to win championships at all levels.
Coach Erk Russell is known as the Master of Motivation. There have been several books and articles written about all the different ways he would motivate his players. I recommend reading all of them, but this book is about his defensive strategy that he used to win Championships. His Split-Sixty Defense wasn’t fully developed until 1980. In 1980, Georgia went 12-0 and beat Notre Dame 17-10 to win the National Championship.
Coach Erk Russell’s Split-Sixty Defense is designed to attack the offense, create turnovers, and is virtually impossible to figure out. It looks complicated but it’s actually easy to learn and very effective in helping your team win. Just follow the steps that I’ve laid out in this book and in the end, you will have a superior defensive strategy that will take your team to the promise land!

Thanks for doing so. Pat McShea
